Lineas vestes

And why does one need so many of them?

Yes, it's that time of the year again. Time to dig up all the extra bags and fill them with obscure items of linen and wool, and wonder how one can transport all one's precious glassware unharmed there and back again. In other words, the famous Cudgel War is here.

Currently I have a large backbag, 2 large bags and a wooden chest full of stuff, and that does not include the 2 chairs I wish to cram inside the van one way or another. Seriously though, there's no way I could make it through the week without my undergarments (one complete, the other still in pieces), a kirtle, shirts, 2 partlets, an apron, socks (3 finished, 1 to go unless I come up with some weird rotation system), dresses (2 finished, one without sleeves, lining and other little details), headwear, shoes, jacket and, and, and.. I'm pretty sure I've forgotten something. And that was just the clothing. No, that was just the basic necessities.

Oh well. A whole week away from the mundane world, just beer and sewing and friends. What more could one ask for? I believe, in the view of recent events, that I'm well within my rights to demand some quiet happiness for a while.
