Was It Something My Ancestors Did?

The good stuff just keeps on piling up. I've had a cat for a week (I want a cat. Or a dog. Or both. Pity my apartment is just way too small for anything other than the fish tank), there was one of the best parties evah on Saturday, the 1st of May festivities are approaching as we speak, and I just found out that Laibach will give 2 concerts in Finland in August.

The cat is going home tomorrow, unless I hide her and claim that a) I've never seen a cat in my life, I have no idea what you are talking about, I mean cats, here? and b) the litter box is actually my Japanese stone garden, nothing to do with cats whatsoever. The cat'll be much happier in her home, however, so I guess I'll just have to give her back to her owner. It's been a good week with her, unless you mind everyplace being covered in cat hair and fighting over who gets to sleep in bed every evening.

Onwards to Saturday. One helluva party. Four words: self service drink bar. Self service, fully stocked (by the means of us guests bringing our own ingredients - the most clever idea for a party I've seen in a while) drink bar. Absolutely fabulous. And the miracle of miracles, no hangover. Yes, you read it right, I woke up as fresh and rested as anything, bearing no signs whatsoever of consuming alcohol the previous evening. Especially when one takes into account that the reason I woke up (at 8 a.m. - really) was that there was the loudest party going on upstairs from me. When they finally went quiet at 9 a.m., there was no hope for me to fall asleep again. Despite of these facts - no hangover and waking up at an ungodly hour - I didn't get anything done. Just surfed the net and took a long bath, which was nice. Days off should always be spent like that, not doing anything particular.

One party behind me; another coming up in a few days. The first of May. There'll be champagne, and picnic, and gin and tonic, and champagne, and good company, and champagne. Can't wait. The only downside is, I'll have to be at work at 7.30 the next day. I'll worry about that then.

And today I found out that Laibach (and here), one of the weirdest, most amazing musical / artistic groups in the world, will perform in Finland in August. It seems that the last summer I have while still in my twenties will be worth the doom that awaits me when I turn thirty. Ok, not doom, but you know what I mean. It's just that how much goodness can happen before the cosmic balance will, um, balance out? I fear to think about it...

Or it just might be that the cosmic karma points are being balanced out right now. Also, I think I need to cut back my daily caffeine intake.

Musical choices for today:
The album Niuva 20 by Turmion Kätilöt
The album 5 by Megaherz (yes, still holding the first place in my personal chart)
Hellmask and Skincarver by Danzig.

I just realized how much music I listen to every day. Wow. Could be worse, I could be addicted to The Bold and the Beautiful, for example, and wouldn't it be fun reading my blog then? ;)

So, you post on Laibach and so do I. You're right. This isn't natural. It's witchcraft, I tell you, witchcraft!

And you can never have too much caffeine. Especially when you're a student....
